Conditions Today (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates conditionstoday.com. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We do not sell your personal data.

Information We Collect

We do not require you to create an account or submit any personal information to use this site. We collect the following non-personal data automatically:

• Pages visited and referring URLs (via privacy-first analytics)
• General geographic region derived from IP address (country / region level only — not stored)
• Browser type and device category

We do not collect names, email addresses, precise location data, or any information that directly identifies you.

Location Data

Weather and environmental data is retrieved server-side using the location slug in the URL (e.g., oakland-ca). We do not request, store, or transmit your device’s GPS coordinates. If you search for a city, that search query is processed entirely in your browser and is not sent to our servers.

Third-Party Services

We retrieve data from the following services entirely server-side, using only a location’s coordinates or ZIP — never any information that identifies you. See our methodology for the full list and what each powers.

• Open-Meteo — weather, air quality, and atmospheric pressure. See their terms.
• Google Pollen API — pollen forecasts. See Google’s privacy policy.
• NOAA SWPC, NASA/CelesTrak, EPA — public geomagnetic, satellite, and radon data, with no personal data transmitted.
• Vercel — hosting, edge delivery, and privacy-first analytics. See their privacy policy.

We do not currently display advertising. If that changes, this policy will be updated to describe any ad-related data use before ads appear.

Cookies

We do not set first-party cookies, and we do not currently serve advertising, so no advertising cookies are set. Our analytics are cookie-free. If we introduce advertising in the future, this section will be updated accordingly.

Analytics

We use privacy-first analytics that do not use cookies, do not track you across sites, and do not share data with third parties. Aggregate page view data helps us understand which sites and locations are most useful.

Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
